Susan Sarandon Bio

It was just after the 1968 Democratic convention There was an audition for a movie that featured several roles for teenagers who had disrupted convention. Joe (1970) was auditioned in New York by two recent Catholic University graduates. Chris Sarandon, who had trained to become an actor, was passed over. His wife Susan was offered a role in the film as Susan Compton. She plays the daughter of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). In the film Dad Bill kills Susan's drug dealer lover and then becomes friends with Joe (Peter Boyle)-- an obnoxious worker on an assembly line , and who collects guns.Five years later, Sarandon made the film that fans of the cult classics have come to know her character Janet, who gets entangled with transvestite Dr. Frank n Furter in The The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). More than 15 years after having started her career, Sarandon finally fought to be cast in a memorable role, Annie in Bull Durham (1988), traveling on her own expense from Rome from Rome to Los Angeles. "It was such an amazing script... It did remove a number of mythsand challenged American definitions of success," she stated. "I spent some time there with Kevin Costner, sex some men in the studio and then got back on a plane. Tim Robbins, her Bull Durham (1988) acting as a support actor, was her first love.
